Title: In memoriam - Eric Post by: PeterSt on June 18, 2014, 10:57:48 am Yeah Peter, We will never forget that winter! Instead of buying new speakers, we sold our ML32 preamp, bought Bert's Gainclones and moved house :) What I mean is: sometimes improvents can come from a totally unexpected direction. We can't wait to listen to your new speakers when they are ready. Cheers Eric (and love from Michaela) I don't know what to say or how to say it. But this has been the last post of Eric in this forum. I am not the only one in here who knew Eric personally and his never stopping enthusiasm for music and audio. Our last appointment never happened. Shortly after his last post Eric got ill and today he is not amongst us any more. Michaela, might you read this, you lost the finest husband in the world. I only met Eric once - he kindly offered to pick me and Paul up from the railway station and drove us to Peter's place a couple of years ago.
We spent the evening listening to music and eating and drinking. It was obvious even in the short time I spent with him that he was a special human being. My sincerest condolences to Michaela. Mani. Title: Re: In memoriam - Eric Post by: Scroobius on June 18, 2014, 01:25:59 pm I am really shocked and upset. As Mani said we met Eric when Mani and I went over to Peter's for the weekend. Eric picked me up at Schiphol (a complete stranger at that time) and took me back to his place where we met Michaela. Eric and Michaela were fantastic hosts and looked after me until we went back to pick up Mani and then off down to Peter's. We had a great weekend. Eric was a lovely, lovely guy and very special. I am greatly saddened to hear that is no longer with us. Michaela you have my deepest sympathy and condolences. Paul Title: Re: In memoriam - Eric Post by: Eric on July 04, 2014, 01:46:22 pm Dear Peter, Mani and Paul,
thank you so much for your wishes and for supporting me in these difficult times. Whenever you will be in Amsterdam be sure that you're always very welkom in our (new) house. When Eric wrote his short text on the 24th of february it was the first day we went to hospital because of his illness - and the first time for him in this type of institution. Since that day it was sometimes hard for him and sometimes he and we together had also a wonderful time. He never lost his amazing humour, his patience and lovely kindness with everybody he had to deal with because of the cancer. Especially the last 10 days of his short life, when we prepared for his death he still supported his sons, made jokes and was teasing me and other's, he showed all his feelings, honesty and his love for everybody. Finally he could go and leave this lifeform exactly the way he wanted, being at home with his loved ones, clear in consciousness and feelings, peacefuly, calm and embraced. Whenever it feels very difficult being without him, I become deeply grateful that we both could create all the circumstances he wished to move foreward on his path. Now he's dancing among the star's. Much love for you all, Michaela, Eric's loving wife |
