Title: unattended mode - mp3 problems Post by: rudolf on June 02, 2014, 10:48:20 pm Hi Peter!
I'm running win8 on a machine with 8 GB RAM and XXHighEnd ver. 1.186-a. Everytime I play mp3's in unattended mode, it plays the first track complete, and stops after the second track has started after a minute or so. No matter how long the first track or the second track are... I didn't stop any services in unattended mode. Changing Q settings or buffer size doesn't help. Engine is No. 4 in adaptive mode. Problem only occurs with mp3 files, not with flac or wav's. Any ideas? Thank you! Rudi/Austria Title: Re: unattended mode - mp3 problems Post by: rudolf on June 03, 2014, 12:53:14 am p.s. I did some more listening - Flac's and WAV's show the same problem (sudden stops, and XXHighend comes up again from unattended mode, music still stopped) - but not so often ....
Title: Re: unattended mode - mp3 problems Post by: PeterSt on June 03, 2014, 07:43:15 am Hi Rudolf,
Can you post (as attachments) the XX, X3 and X3PB log files of such a situation ? At the bottom in Settings there a field to switch on Logging. So do that, kill the sound engine (click blue led in the right hand border of XXHighEnd, quit XXHighEnd, restart, play with your issue until all stops and then go to the TemporaryData sub folder to your XX folder. Send the newest versions of mentioned files. Notice that when XXHighEnd automatically starts when sound stops, there will be another new XX log file and I don't need that one. I wonder ... Are you Activated ? Because if not it can be that (sound stops between 6 and 60 minutes). Regards, Peter Title: Re: unattended mode - mp3 problems Post by: rudolf on June 03, 2014, 10:05:56 am Thank you Peter,
of course I am activated - here are the log files. I notized, that situation get's better when I increase SFS (e.g. 60) - but sound still keeps stopping after some time... P.S. can I stop those library windows from popping up all the time? And: why is my monitor coming back again to life after some time - even I don't touch anything and setting is "monitor off in unattended mode" ? Thank you! Rudolf, which library windows do you mean ? maybe it is related. I don't know of any "library windows". Title: Re: unattended mode - mp3 problems Post by: dsm on June 03, 2014, 01:10:36 pm Hi Rudolf,
This happens to me also. I usually have success exiting the hot keys XX. Ahk on the task bar and letting it restart the next time you go into unattended. It could be completely unrelated to the real problem but it is worth a try. Best, David Title: Re: unattended mode - mp3 problems Post by: PeterSt on June 03, 2014, 01:29:33 pm Rudolf,
I know there is some problem with MP3 and now I am not sure it is the same as what you encounter there, but I don't think so. I also see too many strange things to ... ever have seen them before. Now : Since you say you have the same with FLAC (or WAV) can you please re-do this log file procedure but now for FLAC (or WAV) ? At least then I am 100% sure I don't look at some general MP3 anomaly which may confuse. Also, yes, set your SFS at 60 because what seems to happen is that your PC stalls for 2 seconds before it stops, while you give it 0.1 second with the SFS setting you used there. Also, the XX log file you attached was from later than the other two and I need to have them all consistent. Thanks, Peter Title: Re: unattended mode - mp3 problems Post by: PeterSt on June 03, 2014, 01:30:11 pm David, what exactly happens to you also ?
Title: Re: unattended mode - mp3 problems Post by: rudolf on June 03, 2014, 03:45:19 pm Thank you Peter,
now, with SFS 60 it played me 7 flac files, before it stopped again - and gave me the warning "playback stopped because data did not arrive in time" .... Rudi Title: Re: unattended mode - mp3 problems Post by: PeterSt on June 03, 2014, 05:25:10 pm Quote of course I am activated Haha, no, I don't think so. So you are fooled a bit by first your SFS which can't be that low (PC will not cope eventually) and when the SFS is high enough you're thrown out in between mentioned 6 and 60 minutes. Please read your activation email again how to do it properly and how to check for it and retry Activation. If it doesn't work just get yourself a new Code through PayPal. I will pay that back (as usual). Regards, Peter PS: Please don't forget that there *is* a similar problem with MP3 as I noticed myself the other day. So drop that for a while until all is OK and only then start with MP3 again. Ok ? Title: Re: unattended mode - mp3 problems Post by: PeterSt on June 03, 2014, 05:32:26 pm One thing else :
Do not forget that switching on logging also requires something from the PC. And at real lower SFS (like under 2) it will be another reason why things don't work well. Peter Title: Re: unattended mode - mp3 problems Post by: rudolf on June 03, 2014, 05:48:56 pm Well Peter,
I am a bit confused now...I did reinstall XXHighend a couple of days ago, but in the former folder..and I'm running Processor Core Appopintment Scheme 2-3 (no demo warning there)... Title: Re: unattended mode - mp3 problems Post by: PeterSt on June 03, 2014, 06:12:43 pm Tried the procedure from your email ?
At least read it. You will see ... |
