Title: 1.186a Won't minimize in W7 Post by: toddn on February 10, 2014, 03:54:31 pm So like most everyone else here, I wanted to get a first hand perspective of 1.186 in W7 & try the new bios and XT Tweek settings. I copied 1.186a over from my W8 partition on the same hard drive and re activated it. So no hiccups there. Plays fine in unattended, etc. However, even with Don't use XT- tweaks selected, when I try to minimize, I get and error box pop up that says," unable to boot into minimized mode you may need to contact Phasure for assistance.
I ran through every option I could think of, even uninstalling 1.186a and reinstalling and re-activating it but no luck. Not sure if this has anything to do with it being minimized in W8 on the other partition, but I don't get the usual error message stating that the minimized state is not reflected properly. The only other thing I thought of and have yet to try is: starting a prior activated version under W7 and checking if it still shows minimized there. Easy : A new OS install won't allow the same Code to be used. Only if you had that OS Install laying around you can Reactivate *if* you had installed XXHighEnd on that same OS previously and with the same Code you used for that previously. Otherwise : PayPal please. But I'll return the money instantly - it's just common procedure and no problem at all for me. But I may have done something stupid. You can let me know if I'm a bonehead or not:) So originally, like I said in my first post, I copied over 1.186a from the W8 partition to the W7 partition. At that point I just opened it up in the Ram drive A as I do under W8, of course directing the script appropriately. I never ran install under W7. Then I did have to get a new activation code, which you refunded.(It activated fine with the new code, just wouldn't minimize) So I do have a separate code for 1.186 in W7 & W8 So I'm not sure if my whole process may have been screwed up by not actually installing it under W7? If so, you can apply your original Code (see email) for that.
The RAMDrive ... not sure what happened there, but it won't be the best if you *and* obtain the Code through an XXHE running from there *and* (or) apply it to an XXHE from the RAMDrive. This is not so obvious, but logical it is (bound to go wrong). Anyway, whatever new Codes you need I'll refund them all of course. And sorry about your problems ! Peter PS: The copying you did from your W8 XXHE to the W7 XXHE could be harmless but not sure. Best would be to redownload and freshly install that (or use the .rar you may still have somewhere). |
