I have just clean installed W8 and everything seems OK but when I start XX just before the XX GUI comes up the desktop wallpaper reverts (maybe not reverts as the wallpaper is smaller than the normal full screen size) to the W8 default from the sold colour I had selected. The way W8 deals with the Wallpaper is just awkard and I can't deal with it the best.
Btw, nothing changed in that area as far as I know. But it depends a bit on how the Windows install has been done, inluding the setting of the Wallpaper what you might do as a first thing. In W8.1 it even goes more strange. Notice that in any event you will be able to set your own Wallpaper (and eventually it will stay :)) but that the smaller size will remain. I know I am not all that clear, but this is because it just *is* not clear and so your exact small problem also is not (you just won't be able to explain what's happening I think).
