Title: Music stops after one or two tracks in XX-1.186-a (W8) Post by: juanpmar on January 04, 2014, 07:27:04 pm In some cds, after one or two tracks the music stops. It happens when the track ends and then the GUI returns to the desktop. In other cds the music plays until the end of the cd with no problem at all. I can´t see where are the differences between a cd or the other e.g. both are wav.

If this is about 1.186 (and not 1.186a) I would be careful about Activation. If 1.186 indeed, go here : http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=2811.msg29533#msg29533 and paste those over your current XX folder and see. If you are sure you are activated, then I don't know but it should be about a too long no response somewhere. But we'll see about that later then. Scheme: Core 1-2)
Juan Title: Re: Music stops after one or two tracks in XX-1.186-a (W8) Post by: PeterSt on January 04, 2014, 08:04:27 pm I would start with highering the SFS. Maybe start with 4 to be on some safe side and see whether that helps.
Let me know. Peter Title: Re: Music stops after one or two tracks in XX-1.186-a (W8) Post by: juanpmar on January 04, 2014, 08:20:19 pm Yes, with SFS 4 it works. But why at 0,4 works with some albums and with others not?
Juan Title: Re: Music stops after one or two tracks in XX-1.186-a (W8) Post by: PeterSt on January 04, 2014, 08:30:13 pm Juan,
Most probably because the next track (before the one it stops) is too long to process. This is way more complicated (because it depends on "how" the still playing track ends) but something like that. At east explainable for me. Maybe with SFS=0.5 it already works for you - it is all quite fragile. And notice how the processor frequency is heavily related. Choose another Appointment Scheme and again it can work better. But don't be too obsessed about the ultra low SFS because it maybe even doesn't sound better (I just changed mine to 2 for fun - just see what it brings). I´ll try it to see what´s the lowest one that works and also the SQ with some other SFS settings.
Best regards, Juan Title: Re: Music stops after one or two tracks in XX-1.186-a (W8) Post by: Arjan on January 04, 2014, 11:01:37 pm Hi,
Just as info. I had same issues, live recordings are even worse. I had to higher the SFS to 1.2 and q1 to 8. With this SFS and q1 on 6 I get a lot of stuttering. With the clock resolution on 15ms I get slow motion stuttering, weird sound. Regards Title: Re: Music stops after one or two tracks in XX-1.186-a (W8) Post by: soundgals on January 09, 2014, 02:40:24 pm I had the same problem as you Juan. Only one or two tracks would play then I got an error message about not being able to fetch the data.
In my case changing the clock res from 1ms to 1.25ms totally fixed it and I'm able to play complete albums now. This is with all other settings as per Peters sig, except I'm not using a playback drive or running XX from a Ram Disk at the moment. Hope it helps, geoff |
