(no idea whether this has been reported elsewhere) The "Quality" settings in the Sound Device's properies (like for the Phasure NOS1 WDM device when WASAPI is left on) can now be max 24 bits / 384KHz. But also the "even" rates for the base of 44.1KHz are finally possible. So, 88.2, 176.4 and now also 352.8. Although not many will get the grasp of this right away, and although not many may be utilizing it ... for NOS1 users this can be great news; When you use your NOS1 for movie playback the internal (by the OS) resampling can now be 384KHz. So, remember, your NOS1 *is* actually NOS and thus needs "filtering", and the OS internally provides this for you as long as you use Shared Mode. Well, I think all Movie Playback software does so (I use Media Player Classic) and it means that your 48KHz based sound (most often the base for music) will be upsampled/resampled to 384KHz. Previously (W8 and earlier) this was 192KHz. So, should be better for sound ! Peter |
