Title: Alt-c is not working correctly Post by: charliemb on July 29, 2013, 01:59:30 am Not urgent, but might as well point this out...
I've been noticing that my alt-c choices have not been there when I later went back to play them. So today I several times tried alt-c in both attended and unattended and it does not work properly. Here's what I did in one such incident. Here, I selected tracks using ctrl-c, but that problem also shows up if I don't use ctrl-c.
The result was:
Don't loose too much sleep. ;) Although seriously, I do like the alt-c function and wish it worked. Title: Re: Alt-c is not working correctly Post by: charliemb on July 29, 2013, 05:32:37 am I just thought of something. The extra files might exist because I never deleted the index files in the real music drive. Remnants of 6 and 14 were on the music drive from previous xxHE errors of the type I'm reporting in this thread.
Thinking that I had made for a clean start, I only deleted the corresponding folder under the Nice Stuff directory (gallery). Well, I guess that is not really a clean start if the remnants remain in the music drive. [BTW, I don't like that xxHE actually writes to the music drive. Makes me nervous (writing carries risk). I say, read my data but leave it alone! My vote would be to do galleries entirely by only reading from the music drive.] Title: Re: Alt-c is not working correctly Post by: PeterSt on July 29, 2013, 08:29:09 am Haha, yea, well, uhm ...
First off, Alt-c (and h and z) were never made to operate in Attended Mode. This is with several more of the shortcuts which just allow normal manipluation with mouse. I don't say it shouldn't work, but what happens is that you now fall into the next pitfall : Alt-c is putting THE track in Nice Stuff. Yep. THE. And that one you missed. So, this is the track playing. And now with your own selections WHILE PLAYING the whole lot gets confused, because THE track playing will be the one selected (by XXHE herself), right ? You could also call it a bug (like I should give a message when one than more tracks are subject to ctrl-c). Funny thing now is that when you use the mouse to select several tracks (or albums were it for the Library Area), the rightclick option on such a selected track perfectly allows you to put in all selected in the destination (Nice Stuff in your case). So all what actually happens is that you use a shortcut meant for Unattended in Attended Mode, and next allow yourself (intuitively) to do things which are not supported. Hope this helps ... Peter |
