This tutorial section dedicated to Windows 8 deals with that. At this moment, June 2013, this is about the RTM version of Windows 8 (and W2012 Server). The XXHighEnd version at this moment of writing is section is 0.9z-9b. Windows 8 has prooven to be the most difficult Windows OS for audio so far. It also (or thus ?) has incurred for the most inconsistent judgements of many XXHighEnd users, with its main problem : the potential seems so high but the sound can make you hurt your brains. Today we seem to be on the better track, but with the notice it is not easy to get there. Also, it can well be said that Windows 8 is for the experienced "computer audio user" or otherwise you'll fall in all the pitfalls imaginable. However, once you are there Windows 8 can bring the best SQ experience. It really can. |
