Title: PresetLoader.XSSI
Post by: BertD on February 02, 2013, 12:54:43 pm
After unattended playback XX does not come back normally.

See the three images showing the errors (made with a camaera as PrtSCrn does not copy the screen).

W8 is minimized, UAC inactive... any idea's?

I remember something written about it but I can't find back that topic.

Bert

I changed the filename XSSIesetLoader.bak to PresetLoader.XSSI several times but that does not help.

Bert,

There is also a PresetLoader-FreshInstall.XXSI. Copy that over PresetLoader.XXSI.
Maybe that needs reactivation (and you will lose your settings).

That should help. But why it happened ?
And this is NOT the first time for W8 users ... :scratching:

Okay, I will but then should I first have Windows back into normal state (not Minimized)? Or should that not make a difference?

That should help. But why it happened ?

Perhaps because I have used the same directory from the previous XX folder used with the previous W8 installation?

Some settings were already filled in which they probably should not be with a fresh install?

I thought it had something to do with "/XXData" being the same folder taking over settings and such and all seemed to work out okay so the error was for me unexpected.

I think it is made for that.

What's also made (new in one of the latest versions) is that you can go back to Normal OS without being activated.
IF all is right of course.
But you can also Activate under MinOS. Try to use your last Code. It may work ...

I went back to normal state anyhow and activation works with the last code but it all did not solve the problem.

I will let W8 update itself and see if that is going to help (FrameNetwork and such). BTW, I have a Dutch version W8 Pro...

Later...

EDIT: While updating I found out that I can adjust the volume using the Windows Slider (KS!).

I will remane the XXHighEnd directory as that solved that situation before. Probably also helps to solve the initial problem.

W8 updates ? You can do that, but I don't see how that is going to help.

But are you saying that you still see those screens after you set back that Presetloader file ?

Updates were cancelled and yes, the same screen becomes visible (only after playing unattended again that is) so the situation did not change at all after changing the file names...

XX only seems to comes back normal when I do NOT close Desktop Services while playing unattended. The moment I activate this option then the Desktop will never return and the error messages from XX appear after Alt-H trying to get something visible.

Bert

EDIT01:  I guess I still need this file? XXHighend-09-z81a-x.rar

EDIT02: I just tried but that did not change anything either. For the time being NO full unattended playback for me!

Do you have two AutoHotkey exe's running perhaps ?

Do you use a password with the account you use ?

(I am starting to recognize something)

And this is *only* when bringing back XHighEnd after Unattended, right ?

No double AutoHotkey as far as I can find and no password either (never used it for all other OS installed before on this PC either).

Yes and only when Desktop Services are selected to Stop.

With Desktop Services still running I do not see any problem.

It looks like you did not leave that W7 Shell install to the defaults it presented. So, the path has its default and this is not to be changed. Can it be that ?

Peter

PS: Sorry for the late response but I never saw your topic updated yesterday !

I guess this must have been the issue. Yesterday the shell programm could not find the Path to my W7 source I presented during the installation so I directed it to the W7 still present on the HDD (Dual Boot) which was accepted. I can't remember that I did changed the path to where the program files has to be installed though...

This morning after reading your last reply I uninstalled the shell program, restarted W8 and installed it again (all under normal OS conditions).

This time there was no problems finding anything (auto search for W7) and things installed fine again and the old Windows 7 shell came up as selected after logging on again.

So far so good...

Now the question if this all changed anything for the better and started a track unattended...

... the track just stopped and pretty quickly XX came back in normal conditions again!  :clapping:

Pfheww, thanks for your clever thoughts about this annoying issue, problem solved!

Too bad it needed a Sunday morning to suddenly see it, while the Saturday afternoon did not allow for that.

And now I'm thinking of it, I can build in a check/message for this. Well, maybe. But I should try.

Okay, on the go again !
