Title: New C.A.P.S. servers on Computer Audiophile site Post by: Robert on January 04, 2013, 04:15:11 am Hi guys I'm considering making the "Carbon" from this recent blog by Chris. Anyone have any thoughts on his new designs? He's made these with a good agenda, with no fans for one.

The main differences are the case (I'm using a Zalman TNN300 with heat pipes and no fans), the mobo (I'm using an ASRock MicroATX) and the CPU (I went for the i7 3770K).
What's interesting is that even with XTweaks set to 85, 100, 0, 1, 1, the external heat sink on the case only get's moderately warm to the touch. And the sound is very good. I can't comment on the 'Carbon' design, but would be careful with the XTweaks settings. Mani. The Zuma (i3770S) won't be that far away from your laptop. So, is it worthwhile ? maybe not. But including the conveniency of a laptop - hence what to upgrade for anyway ? ... that is up to you (am I suggestive ? :nea:) 1c Peter |
