Title: Noise before track starts to play Post by: Gerard on December 27, 2012, 12:51:51 pm Peter,
Sometimes i hear some noise before starts to play. Not with every track. Anyone else having this problem? :) Title: Re: Noise before track starts to play Post by: PeterSt on December 27, 2012, 01:44:28 pm Gerard,
If that is repeatable with a same track, please send me that, plus one other from a complete different album. But please remember, it must be repeatable. Regards, Peter Title: Re: Noise before track starts to play Post by: Gerard on December 27, 2012, 02:04:20 pm Never used *After SFS rounds* because it was not needed.
Set it to 1 sec and the problem is gone. :) Title: Re: Noise before track starts to play Post by: PeterSt on December 27, 2012, 02:23:59 pm Oh.
Now I wonder what you mean with "some noise". Apparantly this is a "crack" ? But the PC you use is prone to that. I know ... :) Title: Re: Noise before track starts to play Post by: Gerard on December 27, 2012, 03:48:00 pm The noise is not a Crack but more like very fast ticks. But only for 1 max 2 seconds.

But only for 1 max 2 seconds. :) Forget the SFS rounds. It is repeatable i think. One track it does give the noise and the other it doesnt. I have sent you a track. Hope it give's you the same. :) Title: Re: Noise before track starts to play Post by: Gerard on December 29, 2012, 04:57:55 pm After some more testing. The noise is more profound with PA ticked. 1 or 2 sec of noise.
It gets lesser and lesser from SFS 2 to 6. Maybe forget the track i have send you. That is different from what i perceive now. Oh ja en het geluid lijkt op geknetter. :( Title: Re: Noise before track starts to play Post by: PeterSt on December 29, 2012, 06:25:43 pm But don't you refer to the most frequent ticking ?
Title: Re: Noise before track starts to play Post by: Gerard on December 29, 2012, 06:59:18 pm Sorry hard to give it a word. Never heard this before.
:) Title: Re: Noise before track starts to play Post by: boleary on December 29, 2012, 11:23:08 pm Sounds like the same ticks we've all been hearing. I have SFS rounds set to 3 and when I hit play, before PA is actve, the ticks are louder than after PA activates.

Tried your track. You are right; hard to describe. Never heard it before either. Well, maybe with an LP which was used as frisbee for a whole summer long. Most peculiar. Well, not if something is really wrong with it of course. Per email you told me this is about a new set of CDs you obtained. So they are all like this ? Notice that the character of it leads me to think that one can be more severe than the other, but the general characteristic should be there always *if* it is a ripping problem. Ok, I looked at the data, and it is full with "straight" lines. So, no wave/frequency, but "DC". Envision a sine going downwards, but suddenly the going dowards stops and for a few ms it stays at the same level. Then at some stage all continues normally, but then the level where the sine is is picked up again and this can be anywhere. This implies high transients and the "ticks" that you hear. What's odd though is that these transients are never vertical. As if some slow analogue part (during ripping) can't cope with the high transient. I can't see how this happens, but this is my idea with it. This is how the ticks become frisbee LP like. To the trashbin I'm afraid ... Indeed there are two things happening here. accidentally they appeared at the same time. So we have this cd wich is wrong and at a setting with SFS 2 there is this noise wich looks a bit like the noise on the cd. But as i nodiced this noise become's les when i go up to SFS 6. Than at 6 it is gone. Was hoping that someone else would have it to. This cd goes to the trashbin :) Thanx!! :) :) Title: Re: Noise before track starts to play Post by: Gerard on December 30, 2012, 02:49:34 pm Ok as it seems now i am back on SFS 2 again without any problem.
Connected my NOS1 to the USB3 card instead the one on the Mobo. :) :) A old error is back again and that is the Not Enough Memory error. Which i had with the previous MB. So that error has someting to do with the USB 3 card. Music keeps playing so i dont care much. Computers :censored: |
