recently I came across a software called " Sound Tap Streaming Audio Recorder " ; It is a software that is able to record ( up to 96kHz 32 bit ) ANY stream that is playing on the PC . I have a question open to the forum just for curiosity: If the Kernel Streaming #4 Engine should have priority to all the audio reproduction , how come that the software can record indipendently the stream ? What "position " will he occupie between XX High End and the dac since it is not dependent on windows audio servicies ? Not sure how to answer your last question (or what you actually want to know) but recording as such is possible while playback in Exclusive Mode is going on.
