Title: experience windows tablet, blue tooth dongles and remote control? Post by: s_chris on October 17, 2012, 02:00:26 pm Hi,
does anyone have experience with windows tablet (windows 7) and XX bluetooth dongle. I am considering to buy a windows tablet for remote control. Why? I hope I can save intermediate pc. I want to connect directly by bluetooth to music pc. Does anyone know if pan connection and remote desktop connection will work directly? regards chris Title: Re: experience windows tablet, blue tooth dongles and remote control? When this is normal Windows 7 (and I think it is, though with activated Multi Touch features) it should just work. Hopefully someone else can confirm it, but I don't think anyone has a Windows tablet (also owning the dongles we provide(d), so I should know ...). Best regards, Peter Title: Re: experience windows tablet, blue tooth dongles and remote control? Post by: s_chris on October 18, 2012, 10:55:03 am Hi Peter,
my idea is to use new microsoft surface (windows rt or 8 professional). I hope it is possible to establish the direct pan connection with built-in bluetooth on tablet and one dongle in music pc. regards chris Title: Re: experience windows tablet, blue tooth dongles and remote control? All I know is that the driver and everything works in Windows 8 (a laptop-remote in my case). So that (W8) shouldn't be the problem ... Regards, Peter Title: Re: experience windows tablet, blue tooth dongles and remote control? Post by: s_chris on October 19, 2012, 10:34:32 am Thank you ;) Peter

Did you ever manage to set up remote control with a Windows tablet directly to the XXHE pc? Regards, Stanley Title: Re: experience windows tablet, blue tooth dongles and remote control? I just back yesterday from LA after a delay of >15 h!!! :( Regards, Didi Title: Re: experience windows tablet, blue tooth dongles and remote control? Post by: PeterSt on June 08, 2013, 04:57:34 pm Didi, wow. Well, I recon you didn't meet these guys : http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=2356.msg27043#msg27043 :)
About the Bluetooth connection, just try whether this part of the "guide" works : Set up BlueTooth PAN (http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=2145.0). I have a feeling it will. Regards, Peter Hi Peter, Unfortunately I did not met them on the air, but instead we have "not landing" and then delayed >15 hr. :( I remember that you gave me a pair of Bluetooth dongle and then you did not recommend me to install it. Now I though that Bluetooth 4 could work, as all Laptop n tablet have it. Thanks, Didi Title: Re: experience windows tablet, blue tooth dongles and remote control? The "not install it" was about the drivers provided. In your case (especially W8 itself) probably doesn't need the drivers and it should work without it. Just look for the Bluetooth PAN "network" adapter which should show up (same as you see in the link I provided in my previous post). But, that is the "desktop part" (your normal laptop). Don't ask me what you will see on the Surface part, if anything at all (can it show network adapters ? I just don't know). Anyway these things are not so easy at all and when you don't know whether it can work or not, it may give you a hard and long time in finding out (or giving up first). Lastly, notice that the recommendation from back then to not install the provided driver was about people not being able to start XXHighEnd. However, by accident it was found only last week that most probably this is because W8 installs a Bluetooth Audio Device which lets error XXHighEnd; disable this BT sh*t in Device Manager (just all BT audio devices) and XXHighEnd works again. But always make a Restore Point in advance or check whether it is still there when you make the attempt. Anyway I would try to let it work with the normal W8 drivers because the one I provided is not official (I just found one that works for W8). I think AlainGr really uses the provided driver it, so maybe he can jump in for the normal W8 side. The Surface ? I'm afraid you are the one to find out that part ! (including the RDC(like) connection). Peter |
