XXHighEnd

The below assumes Unattended Mode; Attended will technically work just the same, but this tutorial is not about that.

Suppose you like the search facilities etc. of another player better. But, of course you don't like the sound of it much;
What can be done ?

Well, first of all, since you apparently don't like the feautures of XXHighEnd much, make the User Interface of XXHighEnd as minimalistic as possible. But, maintain the Playlist Area. Thus, drag the [ 1 ] splitter bar as far as you want to the left, drag the [ 2 ] splitter bar as far as you can to the right and lastly size the XXHighEnd User Interface such, that you have a convenient Playlist Area (but which is hardly important).

Now start that player of your likings. Do whatever you want to form a playlist in there, ready to play. But, don't press play in there, or otherwise you will have that poorer sound.
Now select the tracks in the playlist of that other player, and drag the lot on the the Playlist Area of XXHighEnd.

Ready ?
For ultimate sonic quality we use Unattended Playback Mode, so we activate the Unattended button (under Play).
Now start playback.

All will be 100% the same as if you had used XXHighEnd to select the tracks to play. So, also SQ will be;

Both XXHighEnd and the other player will be removed from memory and playback commences ...

Now for your conveniency you need to do one thing more :
When Alt-X is used, the XXHighEnd User Interface will be brought up again. Okay, you need this for your next playback attempt, but what you really like first is to bring up that player of your likings first. So, go to the green "H" icon in the Taskbar Tray, which allows to edit the AutoHotkey script we need for this. You will find the Alt-X (!X) in there and you can see how it's done that XXHighEnd.exe is started when using Alt-X. Well, just add the .exe of your player to it.

Assuming that the other player repositions itself on the screen where you left it the last time, it is now a matter of positioning both XXHighEnd and the other player such that you can easily drag the tracks from the other player on to XXHighEnd without hassle.


Summarized what it comes down to after above preparations :

- Use Alt-X to start both players at the same time;
- Select your tracks to play via the other layer;
- Drag the tracks to play from the other player on to XXHighEnd;
- Use Alt-P to start playback.

Hey, it's that easy !
With only dragging the tracks and using Alt-P you are virtually using the player of your liking with the SQ of XXHighEnd. Isn't that great ?
