Title: 09z7 remote control intermediate pc OS? Post by: s_chris on August 21, 2012, 03:26:22 pm Hi Peter,
I am planning my remote control. You wrote: an older PC or laptop is enough. To use an older laptop or pc I would install windows XP. Is that ok? regards chris Title: Re: 09z7 remote control intermediate pc OS? Post by: PeterSt on August 21, 2012, 08:56:37 pm I guess it's all right. But not sure !
How bad would it be to try and see that it is not working ? Fwiw (which is nothing) I'd say 90% chance that it works. Regards, Peter Title: Re: 09z7 remote control intermediate pc OS? Post by: s_chris on August 21, 2012, 09:43:45 pm My problem is, i have now no intermediate pc. If i know xp works, i will buy an older used pc. If i have to install windows 7 i have to buy a pc with better cpu, cache and have to buy a windows 7 license (more costs). regards chris

I suggest that you hold your decision until the dongle driver is released. I am sure one of us in this forum can test the XP compatibility for you. I myself has old laptop lying around somewhere and can help test it out for you too. Regards, Praphan Title: Re: 09z7 remote control intermediate pc OS? Post by: PeterSt on August 22, 2012, 09:03:38 am Thank you Praphan. Indeed it is so that you will know within 5 minutes whether it works. Once you have the XP machine around of course.

Title: Re: 09z7 remote control intermediate pc OS? Post by: boleary on August 22, 2012, 12:37:28 pm Sure hope there's a version of the driver for XP, my plan is to use an old laptop with Bluetooth technology already installed on it. It's a Lenovo Think Pad. Maybe I'll be able to only install the dongle on the Musuc PC and use the already exiting bluetooth capabilities in the laptop. We'll see.

But I am not currently in town to test it on my XP laptop. Will report back next week. Best regards, Praphan. Title: Re: 09z7 remote control intermediate pc OS? Post by: PeterSt on August 22, 2012, 03:36:31 pm Praphan, you never are there. Are you sure you don't simulate too much in your great simulator ?
(we all like to see the picture of that, I'm sure !) No worries. Someone else will do it ahead of you now (I hope). But chances have dropped to 5% it works for XP. We'll see. Peter Title: Re: 09z7 remote control intermediate pc OS? Post by: praphan on August 22, 2012, 04:21:52 pm Haha. You know me Peter. I am planning another 150 NM cross country flight next weekend. It will be instrument flying session so I have to do some simming before the real thing.
Will post some photo soon. Regards, Praphan Title: Re: 09z7 remote control intermediate pc OS? Post by: Eric on August 22, 2012, 04:32:39 pm Thank you Peter for the dongle driver sending to us today. Post by: PeterSt on August 22, 2012, 04:40:33 pm That is because you are too dangerous Eric.
Anyway, I tried my chances with you and the family and still sent it (to your ibm account). 14:45 your time. Regards ! Peter Title: Re: 09z7 remote control intermediate pc OS? Post by: praphan on August 22, 2012, 05:36:39 pm Hi Peter,
