Title: USB-I2S interface WAVE IO connected to Buff III does not work in KS Post by: ed linssen on July 02, 2012, 09:25:29 pm High all,
Connecting my USB/I2S interface(Wave IO) to Buff III DAC does not work with higher wordlengths than 44.1 in KS. In Wasapi there is no problem. I prefer working with engine 4 though. Maybe somebody has a solution for me (us, I know I am not the only one NOT having a NOS I ;))? Hoping for a little help, thanks, Ed Title: Re: USB-I2S interface WAVE IO connected to Buff III does not work in KS Post by: stefanobilliani on July 02, 2012, 09:52:50 pm Hi Ed ,
Did you try some Q1 and some buffer lenght settings in #4Engine ? Also which KS Mode ? Also which KS Mode ? Thank you for thinking with me. I regret that after trying all settings it does not work out. I am affraid it could be a driver problem? To understand that better , try also a) set DAC is... say... 32bit 96k b) use Antiimage filter and set 96kHz or 192kHz only button . That should allow KS for more than 1X upsampling . c) try 24bit only dev. button . Imo it should work , otherwise the driver would not allow anything but 44.100 , which is rather uncommon by my point of view . stefano Edit : I see there is an USB to I2S interface , so that enlarge the options to where to look at ... d) realize the effective "format" of the receiving BUFF dac e) re-apply a) b) and c) to the USB to I2S interface . At least you have more brains than I have...Because: a) 32 bits does not work b) Antiimage does work for ALL resolutions and 16+24 (no 32) wordlength! c) But I always must set: 24 bits only. Than I can choose Arcpredict and Peakextend as well. No statics! You made me happy! Thanks Ed welcome Ed , it depends , if it is a Windows driver or a "propretary" driver from Buff ... Very interesting , thanks stefano Title: Re: USB-I2S interface WAVE IO connected to Buff III does not work in KS Post by: Telstar on July 06, 2012, 12:43:42 pm I'm not sure I understand if you managed to play @176.4k or jist 88.4 with the waveIO.

Hi Telstar, Any res. is fine. Such as 44.1, 88.2, 96, 176.4, 192. The problem was just the wordlength! (only 16was playing). Ed |
