Title: Guides and Manuals - Good idea to do it like this ?? Post by: PeterSt on May 23, 2012, 11:51:37 am This is a test for now; The meaning of this board is to collect the bits and pieces which imply to be useful to learn the usage of XXHighEnd. It will not be structured, but the subjects can be chosen by means of the topic titles in here. Feel free to respond to this post ! I think this is a great initiative. I've been searching like crazy for some topics and had to dive into previous releases to get a grasp of some functions. Imho should questions and issues be left to the normal forumchapters and not allowed in this section. regards, Coen Title: Re: Guides and Manuals - Good idea to do it like this ?? Post by: PeterSt on May 23, 2012, 01:33:08 pm Thanks Coen. And indeed that is why most topics in here are closed. The ones which are not, lend themselves for further extension (on purpose).

Excellent idea! I personally found that One of your previous posts related to coverart is very useful and deserves to be one of the topics in the guideline. http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=1966.msg20148#msg20148 Best regards, Praphan Title: Re: Guides and Manuals - Good idea to do it like this ?? Very good idea, easier to fine what we are searching for when we need support, and hopefully less job for you to answer to new users. Arnt Title: Re: Guides and Manuals - Good idea to do it like this ?? Post by: listening on May 24, 2012, 07:11:07 am Hi Peter,
that is a really fine and challenging idea! I would go a step further and try to get some people of this forum community involved in the process and open something like a wiki for documentation - it should be moderated of course. Master language could be English but sometimes there is enough energy to get the wiki translated into other languages. Regards, Georg Title: Re: Guides and Manuals - Good idea to do it like this ?? Post by: PeterSt on May 24, 2012, 07:23:07 am Thank you Georg. As a matter of fact I have a Wiki prepared, but I am thinking about how to integrate it with the forum itself (if possible at all). Anyway, I guess that at some stage there will be a Wiki indeed ...
Title: Re: Guides and Manuals - Good idea to do it like this ?? Post by: PeterSt on May 24, 2012, 07:29:23 am ... Something else is this :
Quote I personally found that One of your previous posts related to coverart is very useful and deserves to be one of the topics in the guideline. I recalled about that topic already yesterday, but no way I could find it again of course. That happens when things are written "stupidly" in the middle somewhere. From now on I can make a "Guideline" topic of it right away. So Praphan, thanks. You guessed my throughts - and it is in there now. If others happen to know a post which really can go as a "guideline" (after possible more or less adjustment), don't be shy to say so. It could be something that helped *you* a lot, no matter it is a very basic thing. And really, those basic things could be far more important than the "high tech" stuff, because the super duper can only be applied when you have things running in the first place. Peter Title: Re: Guides and Manuals - Good idea to do it like this ?? Post by: PeterSt on May 24, 2012, 07:35:17 am I put a few things in there to show as example (some copy-pasted while the topic involved should just be moved), but as this will (or should) also contain all from the Release Notes, there wil be hundreds of these topics and I am not sure whether this gets out of hand again. Heck, there are already 130 versions of XXHighEnd, all with Release Notes and subjects which should be in the "manual" somewhere.
Maybe more sub boards which look like chapters ... Getting Started Coverart Sound Quality Galleries etc. :scratching: PS: I yesterday read about things I wrote/showed myself, and even for a million I don't recall that I ever made it. That bad it is. Or that important ... |
