Title: Mixed memory error?
Post by: CoenP on March 28, 2012, 09:12:40 pm
Hi Peter,

I was skipping to a next track and at a sudden a error message 'mixed memory error, lower sfs?' appeared. This is a bit strange since I am running in 'straight contiguous' mode.

Or is it not?

Regards, Coen

Hey Coen, yes it is strange. I have seen such things too and they never fit the way the program is working. For example, it can also happen that out of the blue a Straight Contiguous Memory error occurs while the Sound Engine just was running already. It shouldn't happen - it actually can't happen. But it does ... very sporadically.

I'm not sure whether I have seen your situation ever though.

Oh, all 'n all I maybe had that 6 or 7 times in all the time it exists, and never during a normal playback session or something. Always when mangling around (which I do a lot of course).

To me it feels like I crossed actual internal limits of memory without the OS being able to tell, and something like the whole program is reinitialized by some intelligent OS feature (looks mighty dangerous to me, but I guess it can exist).

??

Just got the error myself again and dove into it.
Found a stupid little bug ...

Is solved for 0.9z-7.
