Title: Where did my posts go? Post by: bambadoo on March 12, 2012, 07:45:48 am I have not been extremely busy in this forum but my earlier posts have vanished. Why and how?
Sincerely Title: Re: Where did my posts go? Post by: PeterSt on March 12, 2012, 08:10:44 am I sure recall you posting here. But as sure I deleted nothing.
It can happen that a whole topic/thread is moved so it is out of the public's sight, but in there there's also nothing from you. No clue ! But apologies anyway ... Regards, Peter Title: Re: Where did my posts go? Post by: bambadoo on March 12, 2012, 10:36:25 am Strange very strange. 5 possibilities...
1. A server crash with an old backup restore? ( I cannot find any post regarding that issue here) 2. Administrator or moderator deleted all my posts? (how many mods are there?) 3. Someone logged into my account (as me - hacking) and deleted the posts? (If they are able to edit after a while?) 4. Could be a "post scrubbing" is enabled in the SMF forum but i doubt that 5. Something is just not right? Title: Re: Where did my posts go? Post by: PeterSt on March 12, 2012, 10:56:04 am 5 perhaps. But then it should be you.
Or me, about "being sure" that I saw you posting here. But I can't recall any Restore from this forum ever. What does happen occasionally is that a table gets corrupted. But this then is repaired (never restored). I can very well be wrong in thinking you posted here, under that name ! I mean, you have more nick names throughout forums and I do recal a "aha, that is him" at some stage. But don't ask me which name I correlated to what and where. Maybe you have another nick in here ? Do you recall what you posted about ? I mean, I know by heart what TOPICS I could have deleted (maybe two or three). You can have been in there of course. Title: Re: Where did my posts go? Post by: bambadoo on March 13, 2012, 09:15:51 am Only 1 nick.
Posts were regarding NOS1. How it is build up and so on. I have in fact changed the psu in one. I think it was in an already started topic. Sincerely Title: Re: Where did my posts go? Post by: PeterSt on March 13, 2012, 09:33:23 am I know about that psu. This is why I said "oh is that him !".
But I sure hope that you don't think I deleted possible posts because of some other posts around that "changing psu". I am not like that. I'd merely say : thanks for helping out on that matter (over a year back). Besides that, you could have behaved worse. :) Thanks, Peter PS: I am now thinking about how to find your posts. Could be in some old backup, but it is quite impossible to check (needs another SMF install). Of course we are not bothered too much about some missing post, but who knows what is gone more ? Besides that, I sure don't like the idea of things getting lost. Btw, I also tried Google's cache to no avail. If you have these kind of ideas yourself, please don't hesitate. Assuming you do, nothing got lost ... |
