I just acquired a NOS1 and I’m running XX HG on my laptop for the time being. I’m assembling a dedicated PC right now using the Modu MD-11 pc case (http://www.modu.it/md11.html). 

I’m not sure about the keyboard connection. The Logitech K-400 seems very practical, because it operates by the 2,4 GHz Unifying wireless connection and I can operate XXHG from my listening chair. However, I’m wondering if it will work when XXHG plays unattended and the services are off? And does it influence SQ?

Or, should I just use a wired keyboard and wait until a remote “pad” solution for XXHG becomes available?

Hi,

If that 2.4GHz isn't WiFi (and I don't think it is) it should work. But : don't ask me whether it radiates too much for not being captured somewhere by your audio chain.

But I'm going to test something this afternoon again; so maybe wait for that ?

With my previous mobo, anything on USB other than nos1 was detrimental to the sound.

With my new setup I can still hear the sound relax a bit when i unplug my wireless usb-ghz mouse. I am still looking for a solution since my mobo only has a mouse OR keyboard port :(.

I would definitely advice a wired ps/2 solution for best sq if possible. With a kvm cable you can extend those to your listening seat.

Well, I haven't decided on my mobo yet. Must be a 1155 socket, but there's so much choice. So I'm able to choose a PS2 solution. But wireless would still be noce, apart from sq.

Hi Stan,

If you want to keep the ps/2 option open, be shure to select a mobo with TWO ports, one for the keyboard and one for the mouse. (purple and green). Most mobos do have only one OR port sadly, and splitters do not work here.
