On my setup before I turned Windows Audio off I got all the usual pings and tunes played by Windows, so I would think other software would work.

Of course sound quality could be another question all together  :)

But sure this works Paul. It is just a normal DAC regarding this. But, first SET it to normal, which is your switch #5 to Up. Of course then it can only do 24(32)/384 max.

What i have nodiced to get Foobar working that i first had to set XX to 16\44.1 than play a song for a few seconds. After that Foobar works. Tried this trick a couple off time's.

You'd have to set the sample rate accordingly in the Control Panel.
What Gerard just told/did implies that, but it's an indirect means of course.

So, via XXHighEnd the sample rate is set automatically, but other Win stuff won't do that (Mac players do except for iTunes I think).

OK sorted now but I could not change the sample rate in Control Panel as it was greyed out. So I ran at 16 44 in XX first now all is working.
