Title: No sound after returning from stand-by? Post by: BertD on September 15, 2011, 09:07:01 am Hi Peter,
I would like to have the PC running (ie on stand-by when not used) but once it went to sleep I can't get any sound without rebooting. I can prevent it from going to sleep but then the remaining activity while I am not around is only consuming energy and to me this seems a waste... Any ideas? Perhaps it will not be a problem after the USB upgrade? Bert Title: Re: No sound after returning from stand-by? Post by: PeterSt on September 15, 2011, 09:17:47 am Hey Bert,
This is a (commonly known, in general I mean) problem since Vista. So, I always let it run ... Maybe if you Google for it, by now there's a solution. It could be (or actually should be at last) that this was solved in SP1. I never tried anymore ... Peter PS: Recovering from it (the standby) is slower than a cold boot. Maybe that helps ? I suspect it's the drivers for the Juli@ card non getting re-initialized. Happens here also with mine. I just try and remember to reboot after coming back from hibernation. I'm quickly reminded when I forget and no sound eminates ;) Cheers, Russ Title: Re: No sound after returning from stand-by? No, it does not help but perhaps you could enlighten me by telling me that this problem will not occur with the NOS1 through USB? Bert Title: Re: No sound after returning from stand-by? Post by: PeterSt on September 15, 2011, 04:11:08 pm I don't know. And I'm afraid I am not going to try either.
*If* it would work, it might not a next time. It is just unreliable (like in general all the Energy Saving settings are from off Vista). |
