Title: No Engine#3 with Lynx ? Post by: minzyman on August 28, 2011, 03:46:10 am Hi Peter,
I just installed Windows 7 and my old activation code doesn't seem to work either. Why would this be and how can I resolve? I decided to upgrade (finally) from XP. Also, I am using the P5Q-EM motherboard with 16 GB RAM and a Lynx AES16 card (for now). Is KS mode the only option for me with this card? Please, help? /Lee Title: No Engine#3 with Lynx ? Post by: crisnee on August 28, 2011, 04:01:30 am Hi Lee,
Peter will send you a new code when he gets up. Whenever you install a new OS, XX needs a new code. I've gotten quite a few. As to KS. That's really your best sound option so if it works I wouldn't worry about anything else. But Peter will tell you more. -Chris Title: Re: No Engine#3 with Lynx ? Post by: PeterSt on August 28, 2011, 08:48:55 am Hi Lee,
The email about the activation has been sent by now, so that will be allright. Re the Lynx, I'm not sure ... All I recall is some other way around ... that the AES16 is not able to work with KS (Engine#4). But maybe I'm wrong. I also wonder whether you may be confusing yourself (or rather me) with a difference between XP and W7. I'm sure there is "something" with the Lynx to this respect, but I forgot. So, what Devices can you select from in XXHighEnd ? Notice that those prefixed with KS: are Kernel Streaming devices (#4) like in XP, the others (not available in XP) are WASAPI (#3) devices. Let me know ... Peter Title: Re: No Engine#3 with Lynx ? Post by: minzyman on September 04, 2011, 03:33:48 am Peter,
So regarding the above, I finally rolled back the Lynx driver to previous version (18c) and was able to get Engine #4 with KS options for the Lynx. The problem now is with Memory Organization. I can only get tracks to play when using Mixed mode. When using Straight Continuous or even Mixed Continuous mode, I get that nasty window popup telling me "Necessary privileges have been set. Reboot to make them effective! I cannot get this thing to go away under straight continuous. Have played with the SFS size and still nothing. My machine has a Lynx AES16 and 16 GB of RAM, Mem buff set to 4096. Q1 to 30, 0,0,0,0. I could also use another activation code, as I had to rebuild my Win 7 build yet again. The one you gave me the other day no longer works. Thanks. /Lee Title: Re: No Engine#3 with Lynx ? Post by: PeterSt on September 04, 2011, 04:12:26 am Hi Lee, can you see here whether this helps : Mixed / Contiguous Memory (http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=1547.msg15678#msg15678) ?
See your email about the Activation ! Regards, Peter Title: Re: No Engine#3 with Lynx ? Post by: minzyman on September 04, 2011, 04:20:39 am Ah yes, I think I disabled a few security settings, so do not see Local security Policy options in Administrative Tools.
Will have to play more. /Lee Title: Re: No Engine#3 with Lynx ? Post by: PeterSt on September 04, 2011, 04:23:23 am And shut off your UAC ! (User Account Control). Slider to the bottom.
Title: Re: No Engine#3 with Lynx ? Post by: minzyman on September 04, 2011, 04:29:21 am This is what I disabled:
➢BitLocker Drive Encryption ➢Certificate Propogation ➢Diagnostic Policy/Service/System ➢Distributed Link Tracking Client Elements ➢Encrypting File System from page 5 ➢Function Discovery Provider/Resource ➢Health Key and Certificate Management ➢Internet Connection Sharing ➢IP Helper ➢Offline Files ➢PnP-X IP Bus Enumerator ➢Quality Windows Audio Video Experience ➢Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol ➢Themes ➢Windows Media Center Receiver/ Schedule ➢Windows Media Player Network Sharing ➢Security Center ➢Windows Defender ➢Windows Firewall ➢Windows Updates Title: Re: No Engine#3 with Lynx ? Post by: PeterSt on September 04, 2011, 04:35:41 am If my earlier link doesn't help, try switching on Diagnostic Policy/Service/System. Looks suspicious to have that off in this case.
Once that helped and it works, you can turn it off again. Title: Re: No Engine#3 with Lynx ? Post by: minzyman on September 04, 2011, 05:23:43 am There is no Local Security Policy in Windows 7 Home Premium, according to Microsoft help. Only in Ultimate. That perhaps is why I don't see it listed.
Maybe if I run secpol.msc, perhaps I can access something like Local Security Policy? Not sure. I have Mixed mode working. But still cannot get straight continuous mem organization to allow me to play. Still getting permissions issues. SFS at 430, but I did play with it at 2. Still no go. UAC slider is all the way down. Any other thoughts? Thanks. /Lee Title: Re: No Engine#3 with Lynx ? Post by: PeterSt on September 04, 2011, 08:04:10 am Home Premium ... Look here : Re: how to start MC and XC? In the mean time I will dig up that ntrights program for you and attach it in this post when I found it. Ok. Rename to .exe Title: Re: No Engine#3 with Lynx ? Post by: minzyman on September 04, 2011, 06:42:55 pm Peter,
I'll try this Ntrights.exe app, but Coen was using Win 7 32bit. I have 64bit running. Will this matter? /Lee Title: Re: No SC and MC with WIN7 64b Post by: minzyman on September 04, 2011, 07:29:06 pm Success! Ntrights.exe worked great. All set now.
Here is the process: need to download ntrights.exe first. "I used a little trick to enforce the lock pages privilege for the administrator role. I stumbled upon a tool that is part of the win2003 toolkit: ntrights.exe. With this tool placed in the windows\system32\ directory I ran it form the command prompt:> Ntrights +r SeLockMemoryPrivilege -u Administrators (this command is case sensitive)." Thanks. /Lee |
