Title: Engine #3.exe stopped working message Post by: Gerner on August 20, 2007, 11:18:44 am Hi Peter
From time to time when I load a folders *.vaw tracks into the playlist, MS Windows tells me that Engine#.exe has stopped to work. MS then tries to look up for a solution. Ha... It seems to be related to a few music folders of mine and all tracks in it, as I cannot just skip the track provoking the message and go to the next neither it helps to reboot XX again. Would you think it's related to a bad rip or? Gerner PS! Bert has the same problem. Everything is fine from then.

I'm not quite sure what it is your doing. :thankyou: Gerner Title: Re: Engine #3.exe stopped working message Post by: astacus21 on August 20, 2007, 04:59:10 pm I use the freeware utility audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download ) to edit my wavs and i save them again with it. I dont know what has changed, but now xxhighend is working properly.

There must be a way that this, however it works, could be avoided? It looks like not every application create the same wav file, for the same song.

The program you mention (nice little thing BTW) did not cure my problem. So you are right. It is something else. The tracks (Complete folders) i cannot play with XX, works very well in the MS player, Real Player and Foobar Player. So? Anything the same about the files that don't play? Like diacritical marks, long files names??? I don't know, just guessing; look for what is similar about the tracks. I'm still using single album wav files instead of multi song wav files.... something about them I like ... (hint). I am happy, but will be happier once cue file support is made... but, hmm, I still listen to entire albums. No clue Dave. Let's see when the Master is back from his stay in Alkatraz. Maybe he has a clue. Yes I am sure he has.... ;) Gerner Title: Re: Engine #3.exe stopped working message Post by: PeterSt on August 24, 2007, 04:24:43 pm Gerner, start reading here : http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=131.msg664#msg664
