Title: XXHighend and dbPoweramp Post by: Suteetat on December 26, 2010, 10:37:10 am In the past, with dbPoweramp installed, when I use embedded window explorer to choose tracks in XXHighend, when a pointer is on a track, dbPoweramp window automatically opened up to show tag informations which is very nice and is handy. However, over the past several weeks, this feature disappeared. I cannot remmeber if it happens after installing 9z-3 or when I switched back to Vista or when I built my new computer.
When I am in window explorer outside of XXHighend, dbPoweramp tag window still shows up when a pointer is over a track. Using window explorer under explore original location in XXHighend only showed a small window giving track size and file type but not the full dbPoweramp track tags. I wonder if this is the case for everybody else with similar setup to me as well? Title: Re: XXHighend and dbPoweramp Post by: PeterSt on December 26, 2010, 11:51:52 am I don't know, but just a suggestion : Can it be related to before the file type(s) in concern weren't associated with XXHighEnd, while now they are ? At least since 0.9z-3 they can ...
So, if before they were associated with dbPoweramp there seems some logic in this. Title: Re: XXHighend and dbPoweramp Post by: Suteetat on December 26, 2010, 01:18:43 pm Peter, I am not sure if I understand you correctly but the the tags disappeared completely even those that used to work properly.
I am not sure about association bit. Files even that was ripped before I used dbPoweramp used to show tag information as well but now even files that were ripped by dbPoweramp initially do not show tag information. However, under window explorer, all tag informations showed up ok. It is not a big deal but it would be nice to have this feature back :( Title: Re: XXHighend and dbPoweramp Post by: PeterSt on December 26, 2010, 02:22:46 pm Well, at this moment I am only depending on what Boleary says, so theoretically it should be your "setup" somehow. But, the Embedded Explorer version *did* change, so it could be just that (out of my control). But then of course we don't like to hear that it works somewhere else (Boleary). :)
If you have the files associated with XXHighEnd now, double clicking them from normal Explorer would start XXHighEnd. If that is the case in your situation, I'll bet it's that (and then you have to associate them with whatever it was you had before). Btw, I can understand that you like to have this feature back (I didn't evven know it existed). If you double click a file from normal Explorer and XXHighEnd does not start ... does it still work in 0.9z-2 ? Title: Re: XXHighend and dbPoweramp Post by: PeterSt on December 26, 2010, 02:52:08 pm Btw, File Associations emerge when you rightclick a track and next choose Open for a first time (for the file type concerned), use Open With (or Play With) or selecting something like "Always open with". It depends a bit on the OS and maybe settings what shows really, but you'll get the idea. Next, the icons next to the files will show the associated "opening program".
Title: Re: XXHighend and dbPoweramp Post by: Calibrator on December 26, 2010, 03:35:37 pm Within the dBPowerAmp folder under the STARt menu, there is a dBPowerAmp Configuration applet. Within that is an option to "Enable Pop-up Information Tips" and "Enable Explorer Columns", together with 'advanced' submenu's. You may not have those active currently, or there may be some options in the 'advanced' areas that will fix your issue.
Cheers, Russ Title: Re: XXHighend and dbPoweramp Post by: Suteetat on December 26, 2010, 04:14:38 pm I assigned all my aiff file to XXhighend. That did not do anything.
I looked in configuration setting as Calibrator suggested. Pop up info tips is enabled. The explorer columnes option is however greyed out as it says for winXP only so I cannot enable that. I tried uninstalled dbPoweramp and reinstalled it again but that did not help. It is R14 version which is the most recent one as far as I know. Title: Re: XXHighend and dbPoweramp Post by: boleary on December 26, 2010, 04:30:13 pm I'm using R13.5. Maybe it's an issue with the update?
