Title: Wishlist: repeat track Post by: Telstar on November 15, 2010, 10:24:12 pm Please please please, I need this.
I dont remember how long I asked for this feature, Peter. A repeat tracklist and/or album would be nice too, but i NEED the repeat track endlessly. PS: i prefer the gallery button in the bottom panel. Title: Re: Wishlist: repeat track Post by: PeterSt on November 15, 2010, 10:56:20 pm Quote Please please please, I need this. Assumed I understand you correctly, what if you start reading the release notes ? A-B playback is in there for ages - sometimes was broken, and per 0.9z-2 was improved upon after it worked again for 6 months or so. What one can all miss ... haha But then again, if I understood you correctly, because it's almost too obvious it's there (and for such a long time already). Quote I dont remember how long I asked for this feature, Peter. It must be so long (AGO) that I don't recall it; To avoid all misunderstandings : you are asking for ONE track to repeat endlessly. That's A-B playback, this time from the start to the end of the track. I'm using it myself half of the say ... (for measuring). Peter PS: Quote PS: i prefer the gallery button in the bottom panel. Thanks. I guess I'm getting used to it by now, but for sure I kind of agree. :grazy:Title: Re: Wishlist: repeat track Post by: Telstar on November 16, 2010, 12:56:54 pm It must be so long (AGO) that I don't recall it; To avoid all misunderstandings : you are asking for ONE track to repeat endlessly. I thought that would compare two different settings, to be chosen somehow beforehand. I'm going to try right now :D Title: Re: Wishlist: repeat track Post by: Telstar on November 17, 2010, 03:32:52 pm I'm going to try right now :D I tried it and I didnt manage to have it work the way i want. I press A then at the end of a track it keeps going to the next one. Would i have to wait til the near end and press B? Can I have a simple "repeat track" button, that i can press BEFORE starting playback? :( Title: Re: Wishlist: repeat track Post by: PeterSt on November 17, 2010, 05:18:15 pm I guess you threw out your old CDP eh ? It works the same. See picture below.
Now please please me :) and start reading release notes when you're there anyway for downloading. Ok ? :bye: Title: Re: Wishlist: repeat track Post by: Telstar on November 18, 2010, 10:11:04 am i need this :holiday:
Title: Re: Wishlist: repeat track Post by: PeterSt on November 18, 2010, 10:43:32 am Telstar, I'm not sure we talk along eachother now. Is there still a problem ?
Title: Re: Wishlist: repeat track Post by: Calibrator on November 18, 2010, 12:40:56 pm hey there Peter :)
a couple of points about the A-B repeat function I just noticed after trying it again for the first time in ages: Firstly, while you made mention in the release notes for 0.9w-2 that Quote Note : At Attended Playback the time slider won't move during this means of playback is it possible to have the digital time counter operable at least? Secondly, when using the A-B feature in UNattended mode, if you have the Running Time OSD option enabled, the time display will start at the "A" point, but when the "B" point arrives and the play restarts at the "A" point again, that OSD Running Time continues merrily on its way rather than reverting back to the correct "A" time point. Probably a bug but worth a mention in case you hadn't noticed. Cheers, Russ Title: Re: Wishlist: repeat track Post by: PeterSt on November 18, 2010, 01:29:02 pm My man down there :)
Nopedope, letting the counter run is normally not possible. XXHighEnd.exe knows nothing about this (except for initiating it). It would be faking, and run out of line. The counter for Unattended ... hmm ... I didn't even know that, and with some effort I don't -like to spend- that sure would be possible. But are you sure you don't want to see how long the stupid thing is repeating "by now" ? haha And how useful would it be really ? Ok, I can imagine something for nerds really *listening* to a track 580 times. Ok, I will put it into my ToDo list anyway; also the Attended one. If the man down under asks for it, he must have good reasons. Peter Title: Re: Wishlist: repeat track Post by: Calibrator on November 18, 2010, 02:32:17 pm My thinking for having an operable counter during the A-B phase was primarily to have the player emulate how a standalone physical player functions. It would assist to a degree in knowing when a specific event was just about to occur, for example a subtle triangle being struck in the rear of the soundstage, that you were trying to focus upon.
If it can't be achieved easily and accurately or is likely to impact sound quality then throw the idea in the bin quicksmart as I'm sure you would do anyway. Cheers as always, Russ ( waiting patiently until the 13th March ) [Now Playing .. I have been searching this feature in the menus but was surprised not to find it. It seems to me much user friendly to have a seperate button for this than messing with the AB (never used that on the CDP either). Maybe I'm to much a 1.0 guy :)! regards, Coen Title: 13th March? Sorry, but that won't happen; not for Unattended. Or not likely anyway. The only thing what theoretically (and feaseably) could be done is fake it. Like stuffing in the Playlist a 100 times. Peter Can you make it happen for attended? If i'm in the mood for repeat listening i can stand the SQ deterioration caused by attended playback (i.e when i'm working :) ). I didnt really think it would be that hard to implement, really. Title: Re: Wishlist: repeat track Post by: PeterSt on November 18, 2010, 10:28:18 pm Hi Telstar,
For Attended it is feaseable allright. But really, I can't recall that you asked before. My bad, I'm sure. With some more effort it can be made for Attended as well, but honestly, I will be glad when all is working normally in the first place (and I think everybody knows that maybe just know *that* is happening). Remember, the sound engine is out of control without control from XXHighEnd ... which isn't there with Unattended. So it really is a bit of a challenge. But it's already on my list, so at least I won't forget about it. Regards, Peter Title: Re: 13th March? Post by: Calibrator on November 19, 2010, 02:53:51 am Whats happening then? What year? :offtopic: haha .. that date was put in primarily for Peter's viewing. There's a little sporting event occurring in Sakhir, Bahrain on that day :) Regards, Russ [Now Playing .. Asked around a bit here in the dark rooms, but no quick answer.
There was also the suggestion you would celebrate your 50th birthday. But then I have inside information this can not be the case. Never. :offtopic: Title: Re: 13th March? Post by: goon-heaven on November 19, 2010, 11:14:31 am OK... just a routine check that this was not a leak. :o
Title: Re: Wishlist: repeat track Post by: Telstar on November 20, 2010, 04:42:50 pm But it's already on my list, so at least I won't forget about it. Regards, Peter Thanks. For unattended can it be done like the "stop at the track end button"? I mean, after it stops, it plays the same track. Dunno, just an idea. Title: Re: Wishlist: repeat track Post by: PeterSt on November 20, 2010, 05:06:01 pm For Unattended it works if you NOT activate that button (seems counter intuitive, I know).
But, only the one track. When you activate that button, it plays all the tracks for the implied A-B length (and position, if available for the track concerned -> dunno what happens if the position is not available). |
