XXHighEnd

Yesterday I was listening to the Goldberg Variations (N.B. solo piano, J. S. Bach). Along about the sixth variation a violin made an entrance, in fact it sounded suspiciously like part of a Vivaldi violin concerto. Ii hung around for about 40 seconds (an estimate) and then the piano reappeared solo style and played merrily along it's way.

I was astonished   :o  (maybe a bit strong) and naturally took a gander at my play list. No sign of anything but the piano music. The 40 seconds of violin that was nowhere to be found sounded like an excerpt of a piece I listened to before the variations, which I had completely cleared from the play list prior to loading the Goldberg.

Is this a common glitch?

I don't see how this can happen, unless after the violin a next track of the piano concerto started. But right in the middle of a track ? no.
Which doesn't tell it is impossible. :)

I hope these kind of things (but at the track level, because *that* is known to me) are solved in 0.9z-3. Anyway, they should.

I think it was at the end of a track though I wasn't paying close attention at the time, however the violin certainly remedied that.  :xx:

Another minor issue, maybe. XX sorts files slightly differently than Windows. This also came to my attention during those infamous Goldberg Var.

I was listening to a version that I was not familiar with and the vars. were being played out of order. I realize musicians take liberties when it comes to performing written music, (interpretation etc.) but I thought this might be going a bit far, particularly as the order didn't seem to make musical sense. Not being at the computer at the time I wasn't able to check what was going on right away. Later, I found that XX had interpreted the file order differently than did Windows Explorer.

Hmm ... Can you select that album in the Library Area, click the Load button (the one with the Down-arrow) and show me a picture of the Playlist Area ?
If you can't get it wrong it isn't necessary.

If the Track Names don't contain track numbers causing a physically alphabetical sequence, then forget about this comparison.

Peter, I don't have them to show because I renumbered them in Windows. I always forget until later that you want to know about these sort of things.

I can tell you that it was a double cd and I'd renumbered it to act like one cd. Something like this. 1-01, 1-02, 1-03 for cd1, and 2-01, 2-02 etc. for cd2. I say something like that, but not necessarily exactly like that. I do that for many of my double and triple cds, to keep them apart but all in one folder. Whatever numbering I use, I make sure it works under Windows.

Sorry, that's the best I can do. If I come across another that doesn't work, I'll let you know.
