Title: KS on different systems Post by: Marcin_gps on May 28, 2010, 09:55:47 am Peter, guys, is there any difference in Kernel Streaming protocols on different operational systems? I think about dedicated PC for audio and my system of choice would be highly optimized XP. From my experience XP offers lowest latency capabilities. Anyone using XXHE on XP?

While I don't think this is true (but if it is, it is okay with me :)) it is more important that the drivers for XP are more KS oriented. Thus, the really new drivers for W7 do not need to support Kernel Streaming, while the (older) drivers for XP actually had to. Of course this is another angle, but possibly as important. There is more air, better soundstage and the overall characteristic is lighter (thiner) compared to Windows 7. But that's not what amazes me the most, because the volume seems to be much higher! What the hell?
