Title: Digital filtering Post by: Ben on May 08, 2010, 02:19:13 pm Hi everyone, hi Peter,
I am using my (fan-less) PC not only as a player but also as the filter for my speakers. My current setup is Foobar ,J.River or Windows media player in Asio mode. This output is Rearouted to Reaper to do the filtering, time alignment and bass management with VST(i) plug-ins As output a Echo Audiofire 12 is used in ASIO mode for 11 channels. (5.1 setup with 5 x high, 5 x woofer and Sub) The sound quality is very good and I don’t want to go back to the old analog filters. Only the maintaining all the component is a hassle. And I have to change the reaper setting if to adjust the sample according to the Flac file. Will it be possible to load VST(i) plug-ins in XXHighEnd or reroute the output to an VST host so I can use XXHighEnd without having to go back to the old cr*ppy an inflexible analog filters in loudspeakers? The only thing to offer at this moment is something like discussed here : http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=642.msg5414#msg5414 But it depends on the AudioFire ... Peter Title: Re: Digital filtering Post by: Telstar on May 08, 2010, 03:56:37 pm Hi Ben,
Unfortuately all VST hosts that exist have fixed sample rate. 99% of my library is redbook, so i set that and xxhe with a definite setting (which is without upsampling in the main setup). PS: Reaper never worked for me on PC. |
