Reading that most people prefer Special Mode to Adaptive mode, I decided to attempt the same too. The problem I face is whenever I start playing a track I get loud pop & then it plays normally. I tried several Q1 settings but in each case the loud pop is present. Any suggestions what could be causing it? I have looked in the program, but there is no difference between Special Mode and Adaptive Mode for the first played samples (notice though that in earlier versions there sure *was* a difference). So, the only thing I can imagine that your soundcard/DAC somehow has problems with the first sequence of samples ... On that matter, try Special Mode with a higher Device Buffer setting, so Q1 will show something like a few hundred samples (or a 1000 or so). If it then is still the same (while at Adaptive Mode you really don't have a problem with that), well, then I don't know ! Peter |
